The TAG Study Group has completed its review of the current nomination and screening process and is prepared to publicly share its plan with the Student Performance and Achievement Committee (SPA) in December. After presentation to the SPA Committee, the nomination and screening process will be presented to the full board at a subsequent meeting in January.
The TAG Program teaches district curriculum while emphasizing higher-order thinking, deep knowledge, substantive conversations and making connections to the world beyond the classroom. TAG students are provided with a qualitatively different school experience, which results from the gifted students’ interactions with each other in an engaging classroom.
Please see the attached letter that provides an update about the TAG Study Group which has been formed to look at the district's TAG program.

We have received many parent inquiries regarding the District’s Talented & Gifted Program and will use this feedback to help improve communication and process in the future. Please note that there will be no changes to the Talented & Gifted Program offerings for current students during the 2014-15 school year.
